Some people spend years building toward their craft. Jordyn Kaufmann went all in from day one.
The Roseville-based artist and owner of Warhorse Customs picked up a brush for the first time in 2022 — and hasn’t slowed down since. What started with a single painting workshop turned into a full-blown obsession with sign painting, custom work, and the kind of hand-done lettering that you just can’t fake.
Her process is as intuitive as it looks. When Jordyn starts a helmet project, she comes in with a colorway in mind and lets the design find its own shape from there. No rigid plan, no templates — just paint, instinct, and a steady hand. Every line, every letter, done by hand. The result is work that feels alive in a way that printed graphics never could.
When we reached out to Jordyn to collaborate on a custom Biltwell moto helmet for our sweepstakes, it felt like a natural fit. She’s a Cali Squeeze fan (Blood Orange is her go-to, for the record), and she brings the same energy to her art that we try to bring to our beer — unpretentious, California-made, and a little hard to define.
As for what’s next? Jordyn’s dream project is painting her own chopper. We’d put money on it happening sooner rather than later.
The one-of-one helmet she created for this giveaway is out in the world now, and honestly, it speaks for itself.
