We’ll be honest, every day feels like Earth Day when you’re a brewery built on sunshine and the belief that good beer and a good planet aren’t mutually exclusive. But today, we’re making it official.
Here at Cali Squeeze, we’ve always believed in squeezing more out of life, and that means leaving a little more in it, too. So in honor of Earth Day, here’s a look at how we’re doing our part.
Brewed with Sunshine
California’s got no shortage of sun, and we’ve put it to work. Solar power offsets over 60% of our brewery’s energy needs, which means every cold Cali Squeeze you crack open has a little extra sunshine baked in, literally. We think that’s a pretty good trade.
The Proper Treatment
Water is kind of a big deal when you’re making beer. And when you’re in California, it’s an even bigger deal. That’s why we treat 40 million gallons of process water on-site every year and return it to the local aquifer. Clean in, clean out. The way it should be.
Squeeze More Out of Life
Brewing great beer means a lot of spent grain, and we’re not the type to let good things go to waste. Every year, we recover 20 million pounds of spent grains and send them to local livestock farms as feed. Less waste, happier animals, better neighbors. Win, win, win.
Drink Good. Live Easy. Leave It Better Than You Found It.
That last part has always been the goal. Whether it’s the beach, the hills, or the aquifer beneath our feet, we want to take care of the places that inspire us. Because what’s a cold Cali Squeeze without a world worth enjoying it in?
